Jacob Braun and The SWA Group developed a master plan of this prestigious office
park from a program for three million square feet of office space, a convention
hotel, several restaurants, parking facilities for ten thousand cars, and motor courts
adjacent to the buildings for seven hundred additional cars. The buildings were to
have an urban feel in a suburban setting. We developed the storm water detention
facility and produced large outdoor public performance spaces. The bare site was
reforested with three thousand evergreen trees which helped moderate the climate
due to strategic locations selected from resulting wind tunnel studies and test of
the site. The whole site was graded in a sculptural manner that created spaces
within the resultant landforms. Each building that was built contributed a portion of
azaleas to the common space. This has added up to an impressive city wide spring
flower event. Signage, graphics, and lighting also assisted the overall image. We
developed a maintenance program for the site which enables the site to get more
impressive every year.
